My Blackout Caps are Too Big! How Do I Use Your Blackout Caps?

Today I want to introduce you to the most versatile blackout caps available for decorators today and show you how to use them properly.

Our blackout caps are designed for use with modern LED M5, M6 and 5mm mini lights as well as traditional incandescent mini lights.

They are pliable enough to stretch over the bulb base and create a seal that blocks 100% of the light from coming through.

The most common question we get from decorators is in the form of a statement… “These blackout caps don’t work, they just slide right off the bulb!”

100% of the time this is because the caps are not being pushed all the way down over the bulb base. This is especially true with incandescent mini lights - which are smaller in diameter than an LED M5 lens - so the blackout cap tends to slide off easily if not pushed completely over the bulb base as it was designed.

Let me show you how to use them….

WIth an LED M5 or M6 bulb, you just slide the cap down the lens and push it snugly over the bulb base…

Incandescent mini lights are similar to LED M5 and M6 lenses in that you just slide the cap over the lens and push it over the bulb base...

With LED 5mm bulbs, just slip the cap over the wide angle 5mm lens and push the cap around the base...

If you run into any issues getting the caps to slide down completely over the base, you may need to poke the tip of the blackout cap with a pin so that any air trapped in between the lens and the cap can be released as the cap is pushed down around the based.

That’s it! I think you will find our blackout caps to be the best available anywhere today. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at all. We’re always willing to help in any way we can.

Thanks! And Happy decorating!
